LSHG Conferences This Year
Written By: The editor Published In: Issue 22: Autumn 2004 (The editor)

The London Socialist Historians Group will be organising two conferences this year. One will take the form of an annual meeting, the other will be an academic conference, as we’ve held previously.
The annual meeting will take place on 14th May 2005, at the IHR, and will consist of a business meeting, followed by a lecture from a high-profile socialist historian. The meeting will be open to paid-up supporters, who will receive details closer to the time.
The annual meeting is a new departure. The reasoning behind it is that, after ten years of existence, the LSHG has outgrown its informal structure. The annual meeting of members is an attempt to take things forward.
A one-day academic conference, on the lines of those held in previous years, will be held during the Lent term. The details of this conference are not yet worked out, and willl be announced later.
A report on the May 2004 conference (on the Rise and Fall of Empires) has been posted on the LSHG web site.
