Patna, 10 Feb. (IANS): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Deputy Chairman Shivanand Tiwari has slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for calling Nitish Kumar the country’s great socialist (Samajwadi) leader.

“Nitish Kumar had no political successor. Therefore, anyone can give him a certificate of a great socialist leader. You are free to recognize anyone as a socialist leader, but I believe that is not how to judge a person whether they are a socialist or not,” Tiwari said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while interacting with a news agency, said that Nitish Kumar is a great socialist leader. He (Nitish Kumar) does not believe in dynastic politics. He also highlighted the names of Ram Manohar Lohia and Gordge Fernandez.

Therefore, he has no opportunity to continue his legacy.Similarly, George Fernandes separated from his wife in the beginning of his marriage. Therefore, he has no political successor. While Lohia ji did not marry at all.

“The Prime Minister’s statement came a day before the first phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh. It targeted Samajwadi party, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav. Akhilesh Yadav is the successor to Mulayam Singh Yadav and he carries on the legacy of the Samajwadi Successors are key to continuing the political legacy of the family.

“The Prime Minister and the BJP machinery are always doing propaganda to divert the people’s attention from the real issues. Why is the BJP not tackling the real issues like inflation, unemployment, migration , farmers’ problems. In every election, they come up with dynastic politics, riots, provocative speeches, burkas, hijabs, temples and mosques,” Tiwari said.
