Tom Licata announces his race for Burlington’s Chittenden-13 House race

Tom Licata is running as an independent candidate for the Vermont State House of Representatives for the Chittenden-13 district of Burlington.

“The traditional Democratic Party is dead. Let’s go. Progressivism subsumed it. Progressivism is a euphemism for today’s deception-laden postmodern socialism,” Licata said.

“The 45 Goals of Socialism were read into the Congressional Record in 1963. Among these are: (1) Take control of schools and teachers’ associations. Soften the program. (2) Emphasize the need to raise children away from parental influence. Promote promiscuity. (3) Transfer police powers to social agencies. (4) Discredit the founding of America. ‘Sound familiar’? Licata asked.

Tom Licata points to Law 35, which allows children to consent to psychotherapy without parental consent; Bill H659, which allows children to receive medical treatment without parental consent; proposed Bill H630, which legalizes prostitution; and in particular to section 22 – a constitutional amendment with very misleading wording – which will appear on the November ballot and which will not only allow abortion up to the day of birth, but could enshrine human cloning, babies on measure, eugenics, prostitution and three DNA-conceived children as proof that something very bad – dare he say bad – is happening in the halls of the State House in Montpellier.

Licata quotes former Vermont resident and noble laureate Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn in his commencement speech at Harvard University in 1978:

“The split in today’s world is noticeable even at a cursory glance…. [F]freedom from evil has gradually imposed itself… to which man,… bears no evil within him, and all the faults of life are caused by misguided social systems, which must therefore be corrected… . The humanistic way of thinking…did not admit the existence of intrinsic evil in man, nor saw any higher task than the attainment of happiness on earth. And yet in… American democracy at the time of its birth, all individual human rights were granted on the grounds that man is God’s creature. That is to say, freedom was given to the individual conditionally, on the assumption of his constant religious responsibility…. We placed too much hope in politics and social reform, only to find that we were being deprived of our most precious possession: our spiritual life.

Tom Licata will bring professional financial experience to the Representative position. He has ten years of experience in corporate and strategic finance, including jobs at IBM, Virginia Electric & Power and McDonald Associates, as well as an MBA from the College of William & Mary.

Tom and his wife Anita have lived in their Burlington home, Deforest Road for almost 30 years, where they raised their two children. During these years, Tom became a community leader, volunteering as a Little League baseball coach, Cub master and event organizer. Tom won Burlington’s Leadership Award for hosting the largest ongoing block party in Burlington for six consecutive years. He is now caring for the elderly and people with Alzheimer’s disease.

Tom will bring pragmatism, common sense and caution to the Representative position. “I will measure each of my actions according to its impact on jobs and the economic health of your family. My goal is to help undo the damage caused not only by the coronavirus, but also by the reckless and reckless inflationary, economic, social and family policies of today’s post-modern socialist ideologues, including hiding under the guise of of today’s Vermont Democratic Party. ”
